Taming your hamster

Dwarf hamsters can be very nice and adorable pets with the right taming. You must hold your hamster everyday after his first 2 or 3 days of getting familiar with his new surroundings. Some people say to tame your hamsters at first you can put gloves on. I disagree with this idea. This gets your hamster use to the glove, not your hand. The first time you you take that glove off, he may bite you. Instead use something to scoop him up then gently place him in your hands, but be cautious, he still may bite you. Oh, and an important little fact, never dive in his cage real fast, he'll think you're a predator trying to catch him. This will either frighten him into hiding, or he may attack you. When first handling him you can take him and sit down in a tub with him. A little while of this and he should be quite tame. If not, please comment in the guestbook or email me.
