What are Dwarf Hamsters?

This site focuses on Campbells Dwarf Hamster. The scientific name for Campbells is Phodopus Campbelli. There are other hamsters, the most common regular sized one is the Syrian also known as Teddy Bear and Golden, which get about 8 inches long. There are four kinds of dwarf hamsters, Campbells or Djunarians, Siberians or Winter Whites, Chinese, and Roborovskiis. Dwarf hamsters get about four inches long and often are considered to resemble tiny bears.
 
Campbells come from Russia, China, and Mongolia. They were discovered in the early 1990's by W.C. Campbell.
